On July 3-5, 2019, SGS International Certification Services Singapore Pte Ltd assessed the QMS of Dymax Asia Pacific PteLtd located at 5008 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5 #05-03 Techplace II, Singapore 569874. SGS is the world’s leading inspection,verification, testing, and certification company that helps businesses meet national and international standards. TheLetter of Conformity states that the requirements of IATF 16949: 2016 1st edition were satisfied for the followingactivities: Design and Manufacture of Light/Moisture Curable Adhesives.
IATF 16949:2016 is the International Standard for Automotive Quality Management Systems and is applicable to anyorganization that manufactures components, assemblies, and parts for the automotive industry. The standard is basedon ISO 9001 and customer-specific requirements and emphasizes the development of continual improvement, defectprevention, and waste reduction in the supply chain.

Respond to China New VOCs Standards for Coating and Adhesives
In 2020, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and the National Standardization Administration (SAC) released 9 mandatory national standards relating to volatile organic compounds (VOCs), regulating the testing methods and content limits for coatings, adhesives, inks, and cleaning agents. Some of the new standards will replace the existing standards. For example, adhesives commonly used in the consumer electronics manufacturing industry shall meet the requirements of "GB 33372-2020 Limit of volatile organic compounds content in adhesive". Conformal coatings and coatings commonly used in the electronics and automotive manufacturing industries shall meet the standards of "GB 30981-2020 Limit of harmful substances of industrial protective coatings".
UV-curable adhesives do not contain non-reactive diluents. Almost all components are involved in the curing reaction during light or heat-curing process. As a result, they generate very low VOCs emissions and do not pose environmental hazards and health hazards for human beings. UV adhesives are more environmentally friendly and play an important role to environment sustainable development. The implementation of new standards draws attention to the fact that the standards will have a significant impact on manufacturers using related products. As a leading UV adhesive manufacturer, Dymax strives to assist manufacturers in responding to the new national standard for VOCs control and preventing environmental violations.
Manufacturers normally pay attention to the following two questions:
1. Dymax adhesives and coatings are produced abroad then imported to China. Do they need to meet the new national standards when sold to China or used in production in China?
Answer: Yes. The Ministry of Ecology and Environment requires strict implementation of national and local product VOCs content limit standards. Adhesives, conformal coatings, and coating products produced, imported, sold, and used that contain volatile organic compounds shall meet the new standards of GB 33372-2020 and GB 30981-2020.
2. Can Dymax provide VOCs certificates for adhesives and coatings?
Answer: Yes. Dymax can provide VOCs content declaration letters of internally tested products per customer’s requests, proving that the VOCs content in a specific Dymax product does not exceed the VOCs limitation per the related new national standard. Some products in electronic assembly applications have passed the new national standard VOCs test implemented by SGS and obtained reports to ensure that the products meet the requirements of the national mandatory standards for VOCs. In addition to the letters, the Dymax Application engineering team can provide samples to designated third-party testing agencies per the request of a customer.
The implementation date of the new national standards GB 33372-2020 and GB 30981-2020 is December 1, 2020. Dymax actively responds to the national action plan to help enterprises strengthen VOCs control and contribute to China’s Blue-Sky War.
